“I did it,” I blurt out to her, as soon as we sit down.
“You did what?” she asks curiously. Her look of confusion morphs into shock and she clutches my arm. “You mean? Wait, you did?! Who?”
I pause for a second, deciding whether I really should tell her or not. I’ve never held secrets from Nikki or Macy before though, and I’m not about to start.
“James,” I say softly.
She frowns, mentally scrolling through our list of friends. I pull out my phone and open Facebook, click on James’ profile, and push the phone across the table. She picks it up, and her mouth drops open.
“Your dad’s best friend? No way,” she says in awe. “Ava, that’s awesome! That’s like, something Macy would do.”
I can’t believe how impressed she sounds.
“You don’t think it’s weird at all?” I ask.
“It certainly sounds rather forbidden, but the man is a sex god Ava. I mean yeah, he’s way old, but so is Johnny Depp, and I wouldn’t hesitate to jump into bed with him either. Now tell me all about it!”
So that’s exactly what I do. Nikki is totally the perfect person to talk to about this. She’s always been the most free-spirited when it comes to this sort of thing.
“You don’t think this was a bad idea?” I ask again, just to be sure.
“No. Girl, you need to have some fun,” she says, sipping on her coffee. “I think it’s great. He’s going to leave in… three weeks? That’s the perfect amount of time for a fling. And once he leaves, it’ll end naturally, and nobody will be the wiser for it.”
She hits on the thing that I’ve been thinking about. My feelings for James, they run far deeper than just a fling. Amazing as the sex is, I want more than just that. And I definitely don’t want it to end when he leaves. I feel mixed up all over again. My phone lights up with a message and Nikki leans in.
“It’s from James,” she says.
I pick up the phone and open up the message.
“He wants to see me tonight,” I say.
“Well of course he would,” Nikki says matter-of-factly. “Any guy who sees you would want to. Are you going to respond back?”
“Yeah,” I say, giving her a tiny smile. “I think so.”
James
We sneak around for a full two weeks. By now renovations are in full swing, and there’s so much commotion and chaos that it’s easy to find time here and there for Ava and I to meet. Between updating the plumbing, the electrical and the HVAC there’s plenty of work to keep her parents occupied too. But as fun as it is to take her on top of the washing machine, or in a taped off hallway, or hell, even underneath the checkin desk, I know that Ava deserves more than that.
In fact, it’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about. And I finally reached a decision. I’m going to rent a place here in Montrose. There’s a few vacation cabins that are empty at this time of year. I can get one, and even if we can’t go on a date, then at least I can cook her a meal. We can spend more than ten minutes together, just talking and getting to know one another, without having to look over our shoulders. And if she wants this as much as I do, and I’ve never been more sure that I do, then there’ll be a place for her to stay if her parents get mad and kick her out. Because I know there’s a reckoning coming, even if we don’t talk about it.
I open up my laptop and do a search on Google for properties in the area. It’s a scenic part of New England, and there’s bound to be a few companies in charge of renting out vacation cabins when the owners are away. And I’m right. I come across Atlantic Realty Management and I click their website. In addition to vacation rentals, they specialize in selling cabins.
“Now that’s an idea,” I say, pushing back from my laptop as I consider the listings.
Ava has lived here for most of her life. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if she would want to stay. Even though I live in Washington D.C., I don’t consider it home. I could move here permanently. There’s certainly no family to sway my decision. I don’t know how I’ll make it work, since my company is based in D.C. almost eight hours away, but I’ve got enough money set aside that I don’t have to think about it for a few years. My partners would be willing to buy me out, I’m certain.
The more I think about it, the more I warm up to the idea. My business has made me rich, but it hasn’t made me happy, not the way Ava does. If she wants to stay here and work at the B and B, then that’s what we’ll do. In fact, I have a little idea about that I should explore more. I’ve known Ava for many years, and I know her well, maybe even better than she knows herself. Once I have all the details figured out, I’ll talk to Ava about it, but for now, I put out a few feelers. I’ve got plenty of contacts. Once that’s done, I get caught up on my emails, and then I call up the vacation management company.
“Hello,” a pleasant voice says. “This is Atlantic Realty Management, how can I help you today?”
“I’m looking for a place near Montrose to rent for a few weeks starting today. Is there anything you can recommend?”
I hear the tap of keys for a few moments.
“I’m sorry sir, unfortunately we don’t have any properties in Montrose right now. The only thing we could do is a cabin that you can rent until the end of the week, which isn’t what you’re looking for. Let’s see… The closest one is about a half hour drive, by Lake Renfrew. It’s got three bedrooms though, and a dock, firepit, even a little strip of beach on the property so you can have privacy. Perfect place for a family vacation.”
I get up from my desk and pull the jacket off the back.
“It sounds perfect,” I say. “Can I come by the office now so we can take a look?”
“Of course. My name is Andrea. I look forward to meeting you.”
I lock my bedroom and hurry down the stairs. Before I can get out though, Sandra pulls me to the side.
“James,” she says, crossing her arms. “Do you know how much longer things are going to take? It’s such an awful racket, and I hate that there are so many strangers in my home.”
I have to try hard not to point out the absurdity of her fear of strangers when she runs a B and B.
“This is what it takes, I’m afraid. We’re actually proceeding on schedule, which is a miracle with these type of projects. Usually old homes have all sorts of problems, but it seems like we lucked out.”
She nods.
“I just want it to be over with,” she says. There’s a pause. “I actually have something else I want to talk to you about. It’s Ava. She seems distant these days. I don’t know what’s going on with her. She talks to you a lot; do you have any idea?”
There’s so much concern on Sandra’s face, and I feel a twist in my gut, because I do know why.
“I can talk to her,” I say, because it’s the only honest words I can manage.
“Please,” she says. “I just don’t know. One minute my kids are clinging to my legs, crying when I drop them off at school, and the next they’re all grown up, with lives of their own. Anyways. Where are you headed?”
“I’m thinking of getting a place in the area. It really is quite beautiful, and I should be coming more often. Once the B and B is updated, you’ll be packed, and I don’t want you to have to put me up every time.”
“You mean you don’t want to sleep on the couch every time,” she teases. That pullout has been around since Bill was in college. Uncomfortable is an understatement.
“That too,” I say.
“Well I hope you find something. I know Bill would be so happy if you were to visit more often.”
I walk out the door, my guilt weighing on me. I’m going to talk to Ava about our situation. Sooner or later, it’ll be time to come clean. And it would be better for everyone if it’s sooner, I know that for sure. Whatever the outcome, I’ll be by her side now. She won’t have to worry about that.

The cabin is perfect. It’s a little Cape Cod, painted a pale sky blue with red shutters. The inside has been
decorated with comfort and luxury in mind, and it doesn’t look too modern. In fact, there are pictures and decorations from the 1800s, something I know Ava will love. It has a working chimney too, and I can already imagine the two of us laid out in front of the fire after making love. The only concession to modernity is the kitchen, which boasts a huge granite island, stainless steel appliances and fridge. The cabin is decorated with a family in mind for sure, with bunk beds in the bedroom for the kids and even a portable crib in the closet.
I signed to rent for three weeks then and there. It turns out that the owner of the cabin lives in the property next to me, and he was able to stroll right on over and sign the papers. Next I went to grab my bags, and then stopped at the Wal-Mart to get ingredients for chicken alfredo. It’s my tried and true fallback recipe, the one thing I know always comes out delicious. I also grabbed a bottle of red for the evening. I just got a fire going when I hear a knock at the door.
“Coming,” I call, standing up and dusting off my hands.
I open the door and I can feel my cock rising immediately. Ava looks fantastic. She’s wearing a tight, red dress that shows off everything, and heels too. I can see by the way the straps tie behind her neck that she’s not wearing a bra. It’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.
“Goddamn,” I say, opening the door wider to let her in.
“You like it?” she says, pushing her hair behind her ears.
“Baby, I love it.” I close the door behind her. “What did you tell your parents?”
“That I had a date,” she says with a shrug. “They probably think it’s one of Macy’s friends or something though.”
I pull her in for a kiss, my hands running up her back. She swats me away though.
“Not yet,” she says. “Tell me why I’m here first.”
“Well, I figure that it would be nice to have a place for the two of us. Somewhere where we can relax and take our time without worrying that your parents are going to show up.”
She breaks out into a grin.
“You did this for us?”
“Yeah, want to take a look?” I wave my hand with a flourish. “Here we have the living room. It’s got an original fireplace and finishings according to what the rental agent says.”
Ava’s eyes widen and she walks forward. Her hands touch the mantel of the fireplace reverently. I see her take in the room, the pictures, appreciating the pieces of history on display. My gut feeling about her, and my future plan, solidifies. I just have to find the right time to ask her.
“This is amazing,” she says. “I love it.”
I come up behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist. I kiss her neck, inhaling her scent. I nestle my cock right up against her ass, but she just giggles.
“Come on,” she says, breaking free. “Show me the rest of the place.”
She sprints ahead out of my grasp and I have to take a deep breath to keep myself under control. We pass by the dining table, big enough to seat eight, and into the kitchen. Her hands run over the granite tabletop, and then she moves forward to the window.
“The view out this window is amazing,” she says, leaning over the sink to peer out at the view of the lake.
My cock throbs when I see Ava’s round ass in that skintight dress.
“Yeah, it really is,” I say.
I had originally planned to have dinner with her before taking her to bed, but plans change. I come up behind her and twirl her around, giving her a long kiss. I suck on her lower lip, then plunder her mouth with my tongue. I pull on the bow tying her straps together, and this time she doesn’t resist. She’s back up against the counter, my hands cupping her breast as her dress falls down around her. Her tits are already pebble hard, and I suck on it hard, drawing a sharp gasp of pleasure from her lips. That sound sends the blood right to my cock, making it unbearably hard. I run a finger over her little silk panties, the fabric outlining her swollen pussy lips for me.
“What about the tour?” she mewls as my fingers rub her back and forth.
“It’ll wait. You had to have known what wearing an outfit like this would do to me,” I say. I pull her hand down to the front of my pants. “Feel how hard I am for you? Now get down on your knees baby, and suck me off.”
Her eyes widen, but I push her shoulder and down she goes. She undoes the buckle and button so that my cock can finally break free. I’m so ready that I’m already leaking, something that surprises her. I hold it toward those plump lips and she slowly opens it enough that I can ease the tip into her mouth.
“Up and down,” I order. “That’s it. That’s it. Like a fucking lollipop.”
Ava grips onto my cock as she begins to suck on my dick, her hand moving with her mouth. For a virgin, she’s doing remarkably well, even if I have to tighten her grip for her. I can see her gaining confidence, moving faster, putting a little tongue action into it as she bobs up and down my shaft. I push her hair out of the way so I can see my length disappear into that velvet heat, grabbing onto one of her bouncing breasts. And then her other hand fondles my balls, and I groan. I want to hold still, let Ava learn, but it feels so damn good that I can’t help it. I grip onto her hair, fucking my cock into her mouth until it bumps up against the back of her throat.
But I don’t want to come in Ava’s mouth. I want to come in her.
“Stop,” I order and she looks up at me in confusion. “Get up. Turn around.”
I bend her over the counter, kicking out her legs so she’s spread out for me. With two digits I push her folds apart, and with a grunt, I slide balls deep into her.
“James,” she cries out. “Oh my god. Oh my God.”
I pull out and slam into her again, fucking her hard, making her take every inch of me each time. I push her down onto the counter, forcing her ass back into my hips. I grip onto her, not letting her move an inch. She whimpers but she obeys as I mount her again and again, driving myself deep into her cunt. I slam into that tight little pussy over and over, enjoying the view as I take her from behind. Her cries grow louder, the angle perfect for reaching into her deepest place. I reach my hand down between her legs, sliding against her taut lips as they cling to my cock, to her hard clit, rubbing it over and over until all she can do is scream my name as she comes.
She’s shaking all over, orgasm rolling through her body in visible shudders. I fuck through it, reveling in the way her channel sucks me into her, desperate for my seed until my balls tighten and I release my hot seed into her. I slow down my thrusts, making sure she’s taken every last drop, until finally I’m too exhausted to continue. Our cream’s slipping out of her pussy, drops splattering onto the floor. Sexy doesn’t even begin to describe it. It’s the first time we’ve gone without protection, but I don’t care. I hope my cum takes root inside of her. I hope she carries my baby, swelling with life that I’ve put into her.
Ava
James is curled around me, kissing my hair softly. We’re in the king size bed in the master bedroom. We didn’t ever get to dinner, even though that’s what he promised me. Instead we sort of skipped right to desert, if you know what I mean. I’m so glad he picked this place for us. I was having fun sneaking around, but there were more than a few close calls. And I like relaxing like this, naked, open, with James. It feels… intimate. Something that we hadn’t had when we had sex before.
I turn around and wiggle closer to him so I can watch the rise and fall of his breath. I wish I could stay here forever, enveloped in his strong arms, protected and safe, forever. My heart flutters with something more than attraction for this man. It’s love, and it’s stronger than any other emotion I’ve ever felt before. I lift my head to kiss him, laughing as his stubble tickles my chin. I’ve wanted this moment for so long. I never want to be anywhere else.
“I think you should move in with me,” James says, just as I’m about to drift off to sleep.
“Move in with you?” I ask.
“Yes. That’s what couples do. They move in together,” he says.
He props his head up on his arm.
“Are we… we’re a couple?”
He leans in, locking his eyes with mine.
“Ava, I have never felt the way I feel about you with anyone else. It’s not just a temporary thing for me. I’ve tried to date, but I always compare them to you, and every woman falls short. I’m older now. I want something steady. I want children one day. I love you Ava, and this love isn’t going to go away. It’s never going to change.”
Happiness bubbles up from somewhere deep inside of me.
“I love you too,” I say softly. “But my parents…”
“Don’t worry about your parents,” he says with confidence I don’t feel. “Just think about us right now. I want to be with you. The question is: do you?”
I bite my lip. I do, more than anything else in the world. Even if I lose everything else, I know I’ll be okay if I have James.
“I do,” I say softly to him. “But what am I going to do if I can’t be a part of the B and B anymore?”
“I’ve been thinking about that,” he says, sitting up a little bit. “And I have an idea. I think you and I should go into business together.”
I stare at him. Is he serious? What on earth could I help him with? I don’t have anything more than a high school education. And James, the business he owns is huge and complicated. I wait for him to go on, but he asks me a completely unrelated question instead.
“Tell me Ava, what do you want to do?”
My eyes drop down onto the bedspread. There’s a thread there, and I pick at it. I hate this question, more than anything in the world. I don’t understand why everyone I know seems to think that I should know when I’m only twenty years old.
“If you could do anything you want,” he encourages.
“I just want to stay at the B and B,” I say in a small voice. “My mom thinks it’s a waste of my potential, but I think that’s overrated.”
